Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 garlic cloves Finely chopped
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce
  • 1½ - 2 tbsp peanut butter smooth or crunchy
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp roasted peanuts crushed
  • samba chili paste optional

Instructions
 

  • Brown garlic: In a small sauce pan add oil and minced garlic. Fry garlic until slight golden brown.
  • Prepare the Base: In a mixing bowl, combine hoisin sauce, creamy peanut butter, warm water. Stir well until the peanut butter is fully incorporated into the sauce. Add the sauce to the small sauce pan and stir until garlic and oil is combined. Cook on medium heat for 5-6 minutes.
  • Adjust Consistency: If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it out by adding a little more warm water, one tablespoon at a time, until you achieve the desired consistency.
  • Final Touch: Let the sauce sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Taste again and adjust the seasoning if necessary before serving.
  • Serve: Serve the Vietnamese Hoisin Peanut Sauce in small bowls as a dipping sauce for spring rolls, drizzle it over noodles, or use it as a sauce for grilled meats. Enjoy your delicious homemade sauce!
